MEXICO CITY—The inaugural UTECH Las Americas trade show and conference will be held next year.
Organizers of the UTECH series of international events for the global polyurethanes said the show, featuring polyurethane suppliers and buyers, will be held April 4-6, 2017, at the Centro Banamex in Mexico City.
“We are pleased to be able to respond to industry demand and bring our successful formula to Mexico City for 2017,” said Sue Rothwell, event director at Crain Communications Inc., organizers of UTECH Las Americas. “It is the ideal location to attract exhibitors, conference speakers and visitors from across The Americas.”
Crain Communications—working with event partner E.J. Krause & Associates Inc.—has organized several polyurethane events, including UTECH North America, UTECH Europe, UTECH Asia, and PU China.
“We are very excited to be launching UTECH Las Americas in Mexico with Crain,” said Paul St. Amour, vice president of Latin America for E.J. Krause.
According to UTECH, Mexico is one of the world's fastest-growing markets for the industry, and its automotive sector accounts for 6 percent of national gross domestic product and 18 percent of all of Mexico's manufacturing production. Automotive manufacturing is one of the largest users of polyurethane-based products for applications such as seat cushioning, headrests, steering wheels, noise-suppressing carpets and air filters.
