FORT WAYNE, Ind.—The ACS Rubber Division will offer a course in conjunction with Fort Wayne Rubber Group's next technical meeting.
The course, “Introduction to Rubber Technology for Non-Technologists,” will be offered April 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Press Seal Gasket Corp., 2424 West State Blvd., Fort Wayne.
According to the Rubber Division, the course is catered to those new to the industry, working in engineering, sales, administration, human resources and any other technical field who seeks a basic, easy-to-understand introduction to the jargon of the rubber industry as well as what transpires in the factory and laboratory.
Course material will cover what polymers are and how rubber is different from plastic; how recipes for rubber compounds are created and why; what is involved in mixing, processing and curing rubber; and testing, specifying and quality control of rubber products.
R.J. Del Vecchio will serve as instructor. Cost is $400 for members, $500 for non-members. Students are $25. Member and non-member costs increase by $100 after March 23.
The cost includes entrance to the Forth Wayne Rubber Group's technical meeting and dinner.
