CLEVELAND—Lubrizol Corp. has opened a chlorinated polyvinyl chloride compounding plant in Dahej, India.
This move culminates Lubrizol's efforts to globally expand its FlowGuard, BlazeMaster and Corzan compound manufacturing sites. The firm said the investments began in 2013 and totaled more than $200 million.
Other projects included the 2015 opening of a resin manufacturing facility as part of a joint venture in Thailand, as well as an expansion at its manufacturing site in Louisville, Ky.
Lubrizol said it is the first major global producer of CPVC to establish operations in India. The Cleveland-based firm spent more than $50 million on the facility, which has the capacity to produce about 55,000 metric tons of compounds annually.
