BOSTON—Cabot Corp. said it received its highest score to date from EcoVadis, recognizing the company's progress in long-term commitment to sustainability.
For 2015, said a Cabot statement, the company was awarded “gold level recognition” by EcoVadis, an independent assessment organization that specializes in sustainability programs performance monitoring.
Cabot ranked in the top 12 percent of suppliers assessed by EcoVadis in all categories, and in the top 15 percent within the chemical industry.
The EcoVadis methodology is based on international sustainable development standards that help to ensure reliable third-party assessment.
“The improvements we've seen in our EcoVadis and other third-party scores [show] our commitment to advancing our sustainability efforts,” said Gordon Reynolds, director, Americas SH&E, global environmental affairs and sustainability.
“We have a growing number of stakeholders who are looking at our environmental and social practices and requesting our participation in third-party validation such as EcoVadis and the Carbon Disclosure Project,” added Martin O'Neill, senior vice president, safety, health and environment.
