Covestro L.L.C. has introduced Bayseal OCX, an open-cell spray polyurethane foam insulation.

The company said the product is formulated to meet the requirements of (AC) 377 Appendix X, meeting IBC and IRC requirements for fire resistance without an additional ignition barrier or intumescent coating when applied in service-only attics and crawl spaces.

Bayseal OCX expands in place when applied, Covestro claimed, making it a one-step air seal and insulation. It also complies with the 2012 and 2009 International Energy Conservation Code, the company said, contributing to third-party sustainability programs such as LEED and EnergyStar.

More information is available at www.covestro.com or www.polyurethanes.covestro.com.

Hose Hog HD hose and tube cut-off blades.

Hyde Industrial Blade Solutions has unveiled a high-performance blade, called the Hose Hog HD, engineered for cutting industrial grade hose and tubing.

The company claims the product can be used in production lines or in the field and handle tough hydraulic hose and deliver smooth cuts. Hyde Industrial said the Hose Hog HD blades are engineered with design that uses deeper swooping teeth than earlier generation blades, resulting in a cleaner, more aggressive cutting action. The company claims these blades are more efficient than standard double bevel or wavy scallop blades and reduce product waste from poor cuts, reducing rework costs and increasing output.

The Hose Hog HD blades are made of M2 high-speed steel, the company said, and can cut six-wire reinforced hydraulic hose in automated manufacturing or field operations. The blades will be available in 10-inch diameters with a 0.09-inch thickness and a three-fourths inch arbor hole to fit most standard shop saws.

Coperion K-Tron's electronic pressure compensation system for high-accuracy loss-in-weight feeders.

Coperion K-Tron Inc., a business unit of Coperion Group, has introduced an electronic pressure compensation system for high-accuracy loss-in-weight feeders. The company said the main advantages of the new system include improved accuracy and reliability as well as lower initial cost and easier installation compared to traditional mechanical pressure compensation systems.

Coperion K-Tron said retrofitting options for existing feeders are available, and that EPC can be installed on a majority of Coperion K-Tron gravimetric feeders in almost any application and all industries.

In a closed feeding system, pressure buildup inside a feeder can impair weighing accuracy significantly, the company claimed, and commonly installed mechanical pressure compensation systems are sensitive to structural factors and machine alignment. The product, Coperion K-Tron said, offers a solution for accurate and steady pressure compensation in feeder hoppers. The modular design incorporates pressure sensors and electronics tailored to interact smoothly with Coperion K-Tron's KCM feeder control system, according to the firm.

Sensors can be positioned on the feeder hopper, the company said, and if required, on the material discharge tube. The software implements a self-optimizing compensation algorithm for best performance and dynamics identical to those of Coperion K-Tron's SFT load cells, the company said, even in systems with perceivable pressure fluctuations.
