SINGAPORE—Dunlop Aircraft Tyres Ltd. is opening its first distribution and retreading facility in North America, following the receipt of Federal Aviation Authority approval for its facilities in China and the U.S.
The FAA-14 CFR Part 145 approval allows operators of U.S.-registered commercial aircraft to use Dunlop's tire distribution and retreading capability and network, the company announced during the Singapore Air Show on Feb. 16.
“Having three FAA certified operations covering the Americas, Asia-Pacific as well as Europe, the Middle East and Africa, immediately enhances our value offer to the market,” said Ian Edmondson, Dunlop Aircraft Tyres chairman.
“Many operators, not just those with U.S.-registered aircraft, require FAA certification and our procedures meet the standards of the FAA and other global authorities,” he added.
Based in West Midlands, England, Dunlop Aircraft Tyres produces military and commercial planes. According to the company, overseas sales account for more than 80 percent of its revenue.
The company manufactures tires in Birmingham, England, and also has a distribution and retreading facility in China that supports the Asia-Pacific region.
