ALBANY, Ga.—Sasco Chemical Inc. has acquired RubiChem Inc. from HB Chemical Corp. to bolster its rubber anti-tack products operation.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
A manufacturer of chemicals for the rubber and other industries, Sasco claims to be the largest manufacturer of rubber anti-tack agents in North America with its PolyCoat, TechKote and Sasco Cote product lines.
“We have expanded on our ability to deliver standard-setting product and service excellence to the rubber industry with this acquisition,” Sasco President Marc Skalla said in a news release. “The RubiChem anti-tack products will realize their full potential as part of Sasco, which is fully committed to the anti-tack rubber business and the markets it serves worldwide.”
In a separate move, Sasco said it has selected HB Chemical as its distribution partner for North America. HB Chemical will add Sasco's entire product line to its inventory of more than 600 products distributed through a network of 15 warehouses in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Skalla said the move combines Sasco's strength as the top North American rubber anti-tack product producer “with the vast infrastructure and outstanding customer service of HB Chemical.”
Headquartered in Albany and founded in 1948, Sasco has a research and development center in Macon, Ga. It produces more than 1,200 products and distributes them globally.
