HERZOGENAURACH, Germany—Adidas has introduced a soccer boot, which is fastened with a new thermoplastic polyurethane in-shoe lock system instead of conventional laces.
The Ace 16+ PureControl boot contains a TPU cage that locks together inside the boot holding the foot in place.
The firm said Arsenal's Mesut Ozil and Barcelona's Ivan Rakitic wore them on the field for the first time on Jan. 23.
The boots retail at about $328.
