ROCKVILLE, Md.—Freedonia Group Inc., an international market research company based in Mayfield Village, Ohio, has been acquired by MarketResearch.com.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The combination will enhance services for both companies, which serve a variety of businesses, nonprofits and academia with research covering multiple industries ranging from consumer goods and life sciences to construction and chemicals.
Freedonia is perhaps most well known for its industry studies reportedly used by more than 90 percent of industrial companies in the Fortune 500, according to the company. The firm also publishes a collection of Freedonia Focus Reports and operates Freedonia Custom Research Inc. It publishes a number of reports on the tire and rubber industry sectors.
The Freedonia business unit will be led by Jeff Weiss, CEO of Freedonia Group since 1997. The company was founded in 1985.
“We are very pleased to merge Freedonia's deep content set with MarketResearch.com's sophisticated search and distribution technologies,” Weiss said in a news release. “We feel that our clients will benefit greatly from the combined resources of our two organizations.”
MarketResarch.com is based in Rockville with additional offices in London, New York City and Washington D.C.
