NEW CASTLE, Del.—The TA Instruments subsidiary of Waters Corp. said its ElectroForce Group business has moved to a new facility in Eden Prairie, Minn.
The new facility is almost 30 percent larger that the unit's previous space and is a multi-use location that includes product development, customer service/support and manufacturing.
“We continue to be excited about the growth potential for the ElectroForce products recently acquired from the Bose Corporation,” TA Instruments President Terry Kelly said in a statement. “Our new facility is significantly larger than the previous facility, and gives TA the capacity to double or even triple the size of the ElectroForce business.”
TA acquired the ElectroForce Group from Bose Corp. in May 2015. The business makes mechanical testing systems, which are used to characterize medical devices, biologic and engineered materials, TA said. The ElectroForce test instruments are based on unique motor designs that are quiet, energy-efficient, scalable and deliver high performance over a wide range of force and frequency.
Officials from TA Instruments previous said the ElectroForce business represented about $17 million in annual sales.
