FRANKLIN, Tenn.—Tire industry veteran Manny Cicero has a new job as CEO of Triangle Tire USA, the newly formed U.S. subsidiary of Chinese tire maker Triangle Tyre Group Ltd.
Last November Triangle established its U.S. headquarters in Franklin after opening a technical center in Akron in 2011 to develop tires specifically for the U.S. market.
Cicero, most recently a tire industry consultant and formerly president of Alliance Tires Americas Inc., assisted the company in finding a site for the U.S. office.
Cicero resigned from the Alliance Tires helm in May 2014 after about seven years with the company. He previously held executive positions with Bridgestone Americas and Denman Tire Corp.
“With his considerable experience in all segments of the tire industry and proven management skills, we consider Manny to be the ideal choice to head our efforts in the all-important U.S. tire market,” said Ding Yuhua, chairman of Triangle Tyre Group.
“We look forward to establishing strategic, long-term relationships with key U.S. tire distributors and dealers, working closely with them to provide high-quality, technologically-advanced tires to American consumers and business owners.”
Triangle Tire USA will market and sell medium/heavy truck tires, as well as passenger and light truck tires, including ultra-high-performance, winter and specialty trailer tires. The company also offers OTR tires for the construction, mining and aggregates industries.
Cicero said he is in the process of filling positions in finance, sales, marketing, engineering and customer service for Triangle. He said he is looking forward to also meeting with key U.S. tire distributors to discuss how Triangle Tire USA can help them grow their businesses and serve their customers.
Triangle Tyre Group, which is celebrating its 40th year in business, operates five plants in China.
