LONDON—Bluestar Silicones and Turkish rubber compounder Basoglu Kablo will establish a rubber compounding center in Turkey to serve customers with “technical products adapted to local requirements.”
According to a Jan. 13 news release, the new venture strengthens the long-term partnership with a technology license and supply agreement in silicone high consistency rubber compounding.
Basoglu Kablo has been in the silicone rubber business for more than 20 years. The release said it will offer compounded HCR for technical applications based on the expertise of Bluestar's mix and fix centers. The move comes after Bluestar had announced an investment of $16 million in a new HCR technology to bolster its presence and market share.
“During these 30 years of collaboration, we have built a great experience which enables us to move on into a stronger partnership, Halil Boasoglu said in a news release. “I believe that being together Basoglu Kablo and Bluestar Silicones will be able to achieve ambitious targets in the future.”
“The ready-to-use compounds market in Turkey is in constant development, particularly in specialty markets such as automotive, safety cables, household appliances,” Frederic Jacquin, CEO of Bluestar Silicones said in the news release.
This, he added, is where Bluestar and Basoglu Kablo want to offer differentiated services.
The ready-to-use compounds, a mix of rubber base with special additives, catalyst and pigments, will be promoted under Basoglu Kablo trademark and will be labeled “Powered by Bluestar Silicones.”
