The following report includes background information about previous research done in medical glove durability, the current methods and procedures used, and data analysis on the test results performed between August 2013 and February 2015.
By investigating conditions to which gloves in the medical field are exposed, a durability test has been conceived. The criteria that these gloves must meet as well as the criteria for the test have been discussed.
The team has developed a working standardized system that can be used to test for medical glove durability while it is in use. Alongside the system, standard procedures have been proposed by the team to be used in order to ensure repeata- bility and consistency.
These protocols have been tested, and the results gained were successful in distin- guishing between the durability of several currently available medical glove materials.
