ROCHESTER, N.Y.—Rubber industry veteran John J. Short Sr. died Dec. 20 in Rochester.
He started his rubber career at Garlock Inc. in Palmyra, N.Y. He later moved to Chamberlin Rubber Co., where he became a partner in charge of the molded rubber division.
Short purchased that division in 1977 and started J.J. Short Associates Inc., first located in Phelps, N.Y., and then in Macedon, N.Y., where it remains today.
“We are still going strong and continuing his legacy,” said his son, Peter Short.
More details will be published when they become available.
