ST. LOUIS, Mo.—Accella Performance Materials Inc. is renaming several of its core business to Accella Polyurethane Systems, effective Jan. 1.
The businesses include IPS Polymer Systems; MarChem; Arnco Performance Polymers; Premium Spray Products; and Burtin Polymer Laboratories.
In addition, ArncoPathway and Zeus Tire Fill businesses will be renamed Accella Tire Fill Systems.
In September, Accella finalized the acquisitions of Premium Spray Products Inc., a manufacturer of spray foams and specialized polyurethane systems used for insulation and roofing, and Burtin Polymer Labs Inc., a producer of spray foams and coatings used in insulation and roofing.
“The new name better reflects Accella's strategy to build the leading polyurethane systems house,” Andy Harris, president and CEO of Accella Performance Materials, said in a statement. “In combining national manufacturing locations with a national sales network, we provide the speed and scale to enhance our customer's performance and profitability.”
Accella, rebranded from Dash Multi-Corp. manufactures polyurethane coatings, binders, elastomers, foams, both rigid and flexible, and polyurea sprays, as well as recycled rubber products.
“We are very pleased to realize the synergies these companies provide to the Accella group and the value it provides to our customers,” Vice President Chris Brink said in a news release. “We will continue to provide the high quality, best in class technology and brands, now with even greater focus and energy.”
“Our new name reflects the global presence and competency of former ArncoPathway and Zeus tire fill products,” said Joe Negrey, vice president, Accella Tire Fill Systems. “Now serving three continents with local manufacturing, we are the leading provider of tire productivity solutions in the world.”
Accella expanded its spray urethane foam operation significantly with the purchase of three companies earlier this year. In addition to acquiring Premium Spray and Burtin Polymer Labs, the St. Louis-headquartered Accella completed the acquisition of Coating and Foam Solutions L.L.C., a distribution business focused primarily on commercial roofing for Burtin.
Harris said then that the additions would increase the firm's revenues by at least 30 percent.
