CHANGSHU, China—Sumitomo Rubber Changshu, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Rubber Group, produced its 100 millionth tire in China on Nov. 14, the company said.
The plant started production in April 2004 and currently produces 6,000 tires/day.
“The Chinese market is one of the most important markets for the Sumitomo Rubber Group, as it holds the key to our future growth,” said group executive director Kuroda in a speech to mark the event.
He expressed the hope that Sumitomo Rubber (Changshu) Co., Ltd. would “continue to grow and develop by producing and selling high-performance, high-quality tires.”
