Elastocon TPE Technologies Inc. increased its offerings of thermoplastic elastomers with the introduction of a grade in its general purpose 8000 Series, specifically the newly formulated 8078B grade for applications for both consumer as well as industrial products.

The 8078B offering can be injection molded, extruded or blow molded, Elastocon said, and even overmolded (onto polypropylene) for products that call for rubber-like properties (Shore A 82) and a good surface finish. Available in black pellets in 1,000 lb. quantities and readily available from Elastocon stocks, the 8078B offers processors a multiple benefits for a wide range of applications.

    Features include:

    • High flow properties to enable complex part design

    • High impact resistance

    • Excellent cold weather stability

    • Requires less material usage during processing

    • UV stable

    • Heavily lubricated versions available to eliminate post mold lubricant application

    • Resists chlorine and most sanitizers as well as must household cleaning products

    • Product does not support microbial growth

    • Excellent cold weather resistance

    Ashby Cross' urethane processing system.

Ashby Cross Co. introduced a urethane processing system that accurately proportions, mixes and dispenses urethane for applications such as cable end sealing and splicing, connector sealing, bulkhead pass-thru, creating gaskets and seals, potting, and encapsulating.

The Ashby Cross GP80 Urethane Processing System accurately dispenses high-purity, two-part urethanes, Ashby Cross said, and ensures material integrity by using a thermal management system that provides heating by zones with thermocouple sensing and proportional control; permitting a custom thermal profile throughout. Providing 100:100 to 100:6 adjustable ratios by volume within 1 percent accuracy, Ashby Cross said GP80 has a drip-free dispense head for continuous or intermittent shots.

Offering adjustable flow rates up to 2 lpm, standard features for the Ashby Cross GP80 Urethane Processing System include: heated and agitated material tanks with vacuum capability and optional nitrogen connections, heated hoses and mix/dispense valves and stainless steel gear pumps; all packaged on a mobile cart. Options include shot size control, on-board vacuum pump, up to 80 gallon tanks, pot-life timer, reservoir sensing and bulk feed capability. The Ashby Cross GP80 Urethane Processing System is priced from $39,995.00.

Carr Lane Roemheld Manufacturing Co.'s Hilma Division introduced a 256-page catalog, which offers state-of-the-art quick die and mold change systems. The catalog contains photos, engineer drawings and specifications on Hilma's quick-change clamps, die lifters, power units, magnetic systems and accessories. Hilma systems can be designed for a specific application, Hilma said, and allows cost cutting and reduce setup time. Click here to access the online catalog.
