WASHINGTON—The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries has issued its fourth annual ISRI Scrap Yearbook.
The 2015 yearbook presents comprehensive information and statistics on the U.S. recycling industry, as well as a detailed look at global recycling and the economic and environmental benefits it provides, ISRI said.
More than 130 million tons of rubber, metal, paper, plastics, electronics, textiles and glass were processed and recycled in the U.S. in 2014, according to the yearbook.
The U.S. recycling industry supported nearly 323,000 jobs in 2014, both directly and indirectly, it said. It also generated nearly $106 billion in economic activity and more than $10 billion in federal, state and local tax revenue, it said.
ISRI is offering copies of the book at $4.95 apiece for ISRI members or $14.95 apiece for non-members. ISRI members also have access to an online version.
