ATLANTA—Lehigh Technologies, manufacturer of micronized rubber powders from recycled rubber, has named Ian Wheeler to be its technical manager for polyurethanes.
Wheeler, a 30-year veteran of the PU industry, will lead the customer-facing polyurethane application development team at Lehigh's Applications and Development Center, Lehigh said in a press release.
The team will expand uses for low-cost, sustainable and high-performance MRP across a range of PU markets, the company said.
“The global polyurethane market is projected to expand significantly over the next five years, and Lehigh's MicroDyne rubber powders are ideally suited to meet the industry's growing needs,” Lehigh CEO Alan Barton said.
Before joining Lehigh, Wheeler worked in technical and sales executive positions at Dow Chemical Co., ICI/Huntsman, Arkema and other companies, Lehigh said.
In addition to leading the polyurethane application development team at Lehigh, Wheeler will collaborate with Lehigh's customers supporting the company's commercial team worldwide, the company said.
