WASHINGTON—Southeast Toyota Distributors L.L.C. has recalled 949 Toyota Prius C vehicles, model year 2015, because their tire pressure monitoring systems may be improperly calibrated.
The cars in question were manufactured between April 20 and June 30, 2015, Southeast Toyota told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Because of the improper calibration, the TPMS may not notify drivers when their tires have dangerously low pressures, Southeast Toyota said.
Southeast Toyota will recalibrate the TPMS on those vehicles free of charge. It told NHTSA it would begin the recall on or about Sept. 22.
Meanwhile, owners of the vehicles may call Southeast Toyota's customer service line at 866-405-4226 and ask about Recall SET15E, which is Southeast Toyota's number for the recall, NHTSA said. NHTSA's number for the recall is 15V-514.
