WASHINGTON—Discount Tire Co. is recalling 79,513 Pathfinder replacement light truck tires because the inner liner gauges may be lower than specified, possibly leading to tread separation and rapid air loss.
The recalled tires include Pathfinder SAT LT245/75R17E1 121R W tires manufactured between Sept. 16, 2013 and May 19, 2015; Pathfinder SAT LT265/75R16E1 123Q W tires manufactured between Aug. 5, 2013 and May 19, 2015; Pathfinder SAT LT265/70R17E1 121S B tires manufactured between Sept. 2, 2013 and May 19, 2015; and Pathfinder SAT LT275/65R18E1 123S B tires manufactured between Oct. 7, 2013 and May 19, 2015, Discount Tire told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Approximately 60 percent of the recalled tires have the inner liner gauge defect, according to a NHTSA safety recall report.
Discount Tire told NHTSA it will notify owners and dealers of the tires and replace them free, beginning this month. Tire owners may also contact Discount Tire customer service at 1-888-519-6914.
