GUILIN, China—Guilin Rubber Machinery has launched a home-grown smart logistics system for vulcanization workshops, its parent group ChemChina said.
“With this new system introduced, machines will fully replace people in vulcanization workshops where it is always hot,” said a July 13 release.
The firm claims its system is the first of its kind in China and application for an invention patent has been submitted, said ChemChina.
“The system integrates a wide range of technologies such as automatic recognition, data mining, artificial intelligence and is comprised of unmanned carts, a dispatch management system, a navigation system, an automatic charging system, wireless communication network, and a data collection system,” the release said.
On the basis of this smart logistics system for vulcanization workshops, Guilin Rubber Machinery will proceed to build a complete IT platform for tire manufacturing.
The firm said in April that its customer had verified its new 67-inch hydraulic vulcanizing machine, which it said was fitted with an industrial Ethernet system for unmanned handling.
“A distributed industrial Ethernet solution is adopted for the control system to facilitate monitoring, equipment status feedback, and manufacturing data recording, thus achieving unmanned vulcanization,” the release said.
According to the company, the stability and precision of the mechanical arm are improved in the new machine, vulcanization time is reduced by 25 percent and heat loss reduced by 50 percent.
