BRENTWOOD, Tenn.—Shawn Rasey, president of the heavy construction and mining tire division of BKT Tires Inc. since mid-2014, has resigned from the company.

BKT is the Brentwood subsidiary of Mumbai, India-based Balkrishna Industries Limited. Rasey joined the company in 2014 to develop the company's heavy construction and mining tire presence in North America, according to Rajiv Poddar, joint managing director, Balkrishna Industries Ltd.

“We thank Rasey for his contributions to the company and wish him well in his new endeavors,” he added.

In an emailed statement, Rasey called BKT a great company, and was pleased to have had the opportunity to help lay the foundation for a larger presence in the OTR market.

“Going forward, I will take some time with my wife to plot our forward course, and find the right fit for the next challenge,” he said in the email.

BKT officials said the company's Brentwood office will continue to serve the heavy construction and mining tire industry under the direction of Michael Aguon, as associate vice president. He will report to Minoo Mehta, in BKT's Akron office.

Aguon has extensive OTR tire experience, according to BKT, previously holding engineering and product management positions with Bridgestone Americas and Alliance Tire Americas Inc.. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
