HOUSTON—The International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers has elected Kuraray America Inc. and Thai Synthetic Rubber Co. Ltd. to its membership, both effective July 1.
Kuraray is headquartered in Houston with plant operations in Pasadena, Texas, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kuraray Co. Ltd. in Japan. Brian Chapman will serve as its director to the IISRP and David Steinberg as the alternate.
Thai Synthetic Rubber is headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand, and is a joint venture between Ube Industries of Japan, TSRC of Taiwan and Marubeni Corp. of Japan. Charunya Phichitkul will serve as the firm's director to the IISRP and Takashi Wada as the alternate.
The IISRP consists of more than 60 corporate members located in 22 countries that produce 80 percent of the world's supply of synthetic rubber. The association is headquartered in Houston and has section offices in Milan, Italy; Tokyo; and Beijing.
