TUCKER, Ga.— Micronized rubber powders producer Lehigh Technologies Inc. has formally launched Lehigh Spain, a wholly owned subsidiary based in Barcelona, Spain, to broaden the company's reach in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Lehigh Spain will serve as the firm's marketing arm in the European market and take over the order fulfillment process to ensure a smooth operation of the supply chain with products from Lehigh Technologies' U.S. plant, the firm said.
It officially opened for business in Barcelona June 16, under the leadership of Lluis Molina and Josep Freixas, according to a company news release.
The wholly owned subsidiary is also in place to help prepare for construction of a production plant in the country.
Lehigh Technologies, which produces its MRP from recycled rubber, is currently working with Hera Holdings on a European manufacturing strategy. During the last year, detailed engineering and design work for construction of a new Lehigh plant was completed, as was the selection of an engineering, procurement and construction company.
Supply chain planning for raw materials is also complete, the company said.
