KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia—Synthomer has introduced a new grade of nitrile rubber for the manufacture of ultrathin gloves that combines “maximum sensitivity” with lower raw material usage.
The product, labeled Synthomer 6338, was launched by Synthomer's Health and Protection business unit in Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian glove industry representing more than two-thirds of the global market.
“Looking to the future we see positive growth in demand for NBR latex and as such Synthomer will continue to invest in operational capacity, capability and innovation to maintain its leadership position in this market,” Derick Whyte, Synthomer's executive vice president, Asia, said in a statement.
The product “gives the Malaysian glove manufacturers access to the latest advancements in NBR technology, improving their process efficiencies and enabling them to produce low weight, high performance gloves, staying ahead of global competition,” said Jason Davies, director of the Health and Protection unit.
Synthomer supplies NBR, polychloroprene lattices and pre-vulcanized compounds for natural latex applications supplied to the glove dipping and allied industries.
