RAYONG, Thailand—Chinese tire maker Linglong Tire Co. Ltd. has started to produce truck and bus radial tires at its factory in Rayong, Thailand.
The first TBR was produced at the facility late last month, culminating a a project began in June 2014.
The Rayong factory is Linglong's first overseas manufacturing site. It has an annual passenger car radial tire capacity of 12 million units per year and a TBR tire capacity of 1.2 million units per year. Its first passenger car tire was produced in January 2014.
According to Linglong's website, the company plans to invest $16 million in order to use of Thailand's advantages in rubber resources, foreign trade and regional logistics, and it plans to build the site into an important base camp for tire export.
Linglong said it does more than $1 billion in annual sales, and it has 10,000 employees. In addition to the plant in Thailand, it operates facilities in Dezhou, Liuzhou, and Zhaoyuan, China.
