    Road Venture AT51

    RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif.—Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. is rolling out the Road Venture AT51 light truck/SUV and Solus TA11 all-season passenger tires that were previewed at the company's 2014/15 dealer meeting in December.

    Both new products began shipping June 1.

    The Road Venture AT51, a new product in the Kumho portfolio, was designed for ultimate control on and off pavement, Kumho said.

    Features include:

    • Enhanced tread blocks that bite on ice and firmly grip even the most rugged terrain;

    • Traction in mud and snow with deep, tapered tread blocks to promote self-cleaning; and

    • Cut-resistant dual silica compound optimized for strength and heat dispersion.

    The Road Venture AT51 also meets the “severe snow” rating, according to Kumho. These tires were available for purchase June 1 in the U.S. and Canada in 26 LT and 17 P-metric sizes in 15- to 20-inch rim diameters. Sizes range from LT215/75R15 to LT285/55R20,

    Kumho said it is offering a 55,000-mile limited warranty on P-metric sizes and a 30-day satisfaction trial warranty in the U.S.

    The company is targeting the new tires at owners of full-size pickups and SUVs.

    Solus TA11

    For the all-season Solus TA11, Kumho said it was designed with the adventurous driver in mind. The tire is targeted at owners of a range of vehicles from sedans to minivans to light SUVs.

    Features include:

    • Waved sipes and a four groove tread for superior wet traction and excellent winter handling; and

    •Better mileage due to an advanced carbon compound designed for low rolling resistance.

    The T-rated tire will be available in 44 sizes in 13- to 18-inch rim diameters and come with a 75,000-mile limited warranty and road hazard protection. Sizes range from 175/70R13 to 235/67R18.
