MALMO, Sweden—Hexpol A.B. said it will increase its rubber compounds capacity to meet growing demand from Mexico's automotive and engineering sectors.
The project involves the addition of a 135-liter compounding line and extending the infrastructure at its site in Queretaro, Mexico, the Swedish company said recently.
The new line, due on stream in second half of 2016, will take rubber compounding capacity to more than 70,000 tons from at Hexpol's facilities in Querétaro and Aguascalientes, Mexico.
Global polymers group Hexpol supplies specialized compounds, gaskets for plate heat exchangers and wheels made of plastics and rubber materials for forklifts and castor wheel applications.
These products go mainly to systems suppliers to players in the global automotive and engineering industries and the energy, oil and gas sector, manufacturers of medical equipment, as well as OEM manufacturers of plate heat exchangers and forklifts.
