PAWCATUCK, Conn.—Davis-Standard L.L.C. has appointed James Murphy as president and CEO of the firm.
Davis-Standard said Murphy has been part of the company for more than 25 years and held various leadership roles in sales and engineering management. Recently, he served as chairman of NPE 2015.
Murphy was a member of Davis-Standard's office of the president and responsible for leading the firm's sales and marketing efforts.

Robert Geckle, a member of Davis-Standard's board of directors, will become chairman of the board. He has been a member of the board for more than a year, and Davis-Standard said he brings experience with industrial companies and private equity.
Geckle most recently served as president of the Textron Fluid and Power Systems Group. Prior to that he was president of Branson Ultrasonics.
Headquartered in Pawcatuck, Davis-Standard designs, develops and distributes extrusion and converting technology worldwide. The firm has 10 product lines to support manufacturing applications and customers within industries including agriculture, automotive, construction, health care, energy, electronics, food and beverage packaging, and retail.
The company operates manufacturing and technical facilities in the U.S., as well as subsidiaries in China, Germany and the United Kingdom.
