MORRISON, Tenn.—Bridgestone Americas' truck and bus radial tire plant in Warren County, Tenn., is commemorating 25 years of operation with several events, including facility tours and lunches for Bridgestone employees and retirees.
The plant, which produced its first tire in May 1990, manufacturers 9,000 truck/bus tires daily and employs more than 1,000. Capacity was boosted to 9,000 units daily two years ago as part of a two-year, $36.6 million modernization project.
Over the years, the plant has received many safety and environmental accolades. Most recently it was granted Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification at the Silver level from the U.S. Green Building Council.
A special event celebrating the milestone will be held May 22 at 10 a.m. for state, local and community leaders, the tire maker said.
