MAGOG, Québec—Camoplast Solideal Inc. has acquired Eastwood Tyres of Auckland, New Zealand, to strengthen its position in the Asia-Pacific market.
Magog-based Camoplast Solideal and Eastwood Tyres have been business partners for 25 years, Camoplast said, and together the newly constituted relationship will be “ideally placed to improve upon the already-strong relationship with tire dealers and distributors in the region.”
“We are committed to being the global reference in delivering enhanced mobility solutions for the off-the-road market,'' said Gregory Fossey, vice president and CEO Asia-Pacific at Camoplast Solideal. “We are always on the look out for businesses willing to join us and help achieve this goal.”
The Eastwood acquisition marks Camoplast Solideal's first true brick and mortar venture into the New Zealand market. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Building off Eastwood's established network, the business will continue to grow its materials-handling and construction tire distribution business in the region by providing the right tire, for the right application at the right time, Fossey said, without providing sales information for Camoplast Solideal or Eastwood Tyres.
Eastwood's existing materials-handling service footprint also will help Camoplast Solideal expand the service network throughout the country.
“We look forward to continuing a strong relationship with Eastwood. As one team, we will deliver superior, reliable products and services for real needs and applications for our clients,” Fossey said in a statement.
In business since 1969, Eastwood Tyres describes itself as an agent for Adtrak, Deestone, Elastomeric, Magnum, Mega-T, Hauler, Primewell and Solideal tires, along with offering the Arnco polyurethane puncture-proofing systems.
Camoplast Solideal is active in Australia through its Bearcat Tyres Pty. Ltd. division in Sydney.
