SALT LAKE CITY—Employees at Firestone Building Products Co. L.L.C.'s facility in Salt Lake City have worked 1 million man-hours without a lost-time accident.
Firestone attributes this achievement to an established safety program that includes training, evaluation of basic systems, internal audits and continuous improvement. Daily, monthly and quarterly meetings focus on workplace safety and process safety management.
“At Firestone, safety is more than a goal; it's an integral part of our commitment to making our company a premier place to work for our teammates,” Jason Lakatos, Slat Lake City plant manger, said in a statement. “Our teammates reached this achievement by working together to ensure the highest level of safety for one another in the workplace. They should all be proud of what they have accomplished.”
