WAKEFIELD, Mass.—Alliance Tire Americas Inc. has made two staff appointments to increase its West Coast coverage.
The company named Anthony Cresta to the newly created position of West Coast field application specialist and J.D. Lewis as the company's regional sales manager for the Western region.
The additions are part of the tire maker's continuing expansion west of the Rockies.
“Improving our ability to keep up with our customers' growing needs is critical to our growth in the U.S. off-highway tire market, and Tony and J.D. will be integral to that effort,” Alliance President James Clark said.
“With our new warehouse and a growing sales presence in the West, we are in a position to better fulfill the demand for our Alliance, Galaxy and Primex tires, as well increase our U.S. distribution of Aeolus truck tires.”
Cresta, formerly in customer service in Alliance's Wakefield-based headquarters, moved to Washington as part of the company's growth plans for the western states, the company said.
“Tony grew up driving loaders and skid steers for his family's business, working on local farms, and getting elbow-deep in engineering and business,” Clark said.
“His experience and understanding of the cost-saving benefits of our high-tech tires will help our customers achieve higher return on investment from their tires.”
In his new role, Cresta will help Alliance customers and equipment owners with tire-related engineering issues and will help the company develop new tires to meet machine owners' application-specific needs.
Lewis is based in California and has more than 20 years of experience in sales, with what Alliance called a “deep knowledge” of the tire industry. He holds a degree in electronic and computer engineering and is completing another degree in business administration.
“We're thrilled to have J.D. joining our team. He brings with him a terrific range of experience, a deep commitment to understanding the customer, and a desire to continue to improve that will be a huge advantage to our sales organization,” Clark said.
Messrs. Lewis and Cresta join recently hired Michael Bicknell and Tim Phillips to round out Alliance's growing Western field engineering, sales and customer service staff. In addition to these hires, the company recently opened a 100,000-sq.-ft. warehouse space in Pomona, Calif.
