WASHINGTON—From now until April 30, members of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries can sign up with ISRI for due diligence reports on the scrap consuming facilities to which they ship recyclable materials, ISRI said.
The due diligence reports help recycling companies demonstrate the due diligence required for exemption from the rules of the Superfund Recycling Equity Act (SREA), ISRI said.
To benefit members, ISRI contracts with AECOM, an environmental consulting firm, to perform and provide Reasonable Care Compliance Program reports as required under SREA, the institute said.
ISRI charges only a $25 handling fee for most of these reports. A few of the reports may cost $300, but members may decide at the time of payment whether to order the reports, the institute said.
