NEW DEHLI, India—India has extended its anti-dumping duty on tire curing presses—except certain presses for curing bicycle tires—originating in or exported from China, according to a March 3 notification by the department of revenue at India's ministry of finance.
This preliminary decision was made after an investigation following a ‘sunset review' request filed by Larsen and Toubro Ltd., India's major producer of tire curing machinery.
Such duty, at a rate of 10 percent of cost-insurance-freight value, was first imposed in 2009 on all tire curing presses. The tariff was removed from ‘six-day light curing press' for curing bicycle tires in 2012.
The duty will remain in effect until Jan. 7, 2016, unless revoked earlier, according to the department of revenue.
