CONCORD, Mass.—Vibram S.p.A. announced a partnership with Girls on the Run International, designed to connect Girls on the Run council members with Vibram's local retailers to participate in a sales program in support of the Girls on the Run Charity.

Vibram said it will donate five percent of the sales of all Vibram-soled shoes, including sales of Vibram FiveFingers to the Girls on the Run charity through participating retail partners.

“We're in a unique position to support Girls on the Run by offering an impactful, meaningful program to specialty retailers from the larger community by creating a program that gives back to the next generation,” Vibram CMO Allon Cohne said in a statement.

“Not only do Vibram's brand values align with Girls on the Run, but also with all our dozens of partner brands who support the mission of cultivating a love of running and active lifestyle from an early age as well.”

Vibram said Girls on the Run International is a physical-activity based positive youth development program that empowers and inspires girls in the third through eighth grades to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. The program hosts more than 285 local 5K events annually and in 2015 Girls on the Run will reach its 1 millionth participant.

“Girls on the Run is thrilled to partner with Vibram, who shares our passion for empowering and inspiring girls to be joyful, healthy and confident by encouraging a love of an active lifestyle from an early age,” said Elizabeth Kunz, CEO of Girls on the Run International. “We look forward to collaborating with Vibram on our special activities and events throughout the year.”

For all retail partners that opt-in, Vibram said it will donate five percent of shoe purchase price of any Vibram soled product, including New Balance, Saucony, Hoka One One, Merrell, The North Face, or any other partner with a Vibram sole, and any Vibram FiveFingers product. This program is only offered through Girls on the Run and its council members and is only available in-store, exclusive of all online purchases.
