AKRON—The Smithers Group has appointed Nathaniel Leonard to vice president, North America, for the Smithers Rapra and Smithers Pira business groups.
He replaces Jesse Roeck, who will retire in March after four years with Smithers and 35 years in the chemical and tire industries.
Leonard served in leadership roles with Republic Steel, Veyance Technologies Inc. and Goodyear with responsibilities including general management, purchasing, manufacturing, supply chain and information technology.
“Nat has extensive management experience across many business functions in the automotive and supplier sector,” Jim Dowey, president of Smithers Rapra and Smithers Pira, said in a statement. “His expertise will be beneficial to our customers as he leads initiatives to expand our future service offerings.”
Smithers is a global testing, consulting and information service business headquartered in Akron that manufacturers highly engineered products, chemicals and compounds.
