BOSTON—Cabot Corp. has realigned its global business segments principally to improve efficiency and to better prioritize the company's resources.
The company has been organized into four segments that include Reinforcement Materials, Performance, Specialty Fluids and Purification Solutions.
Reinforcement Materials now combines the rubber blacks and elastomer composites product lines. Its main objective is to serve the tire and industrial rubber industries. Sean Keohane was named an executive vice president and president of the segment.
Performance Chemicals includes specialty carbons and compounds, with inkjet colorants product lines becoming part of the segment's specialty carbons and formulations business. The realignment also combines fumed metal oxides and aerogel product lines into the segments metal oxides business.
Cabot's Specialty Fluids operation will now become a stand-alone segment. Nick Cross was named the executive vice president and president of the Performance Chemicals and Specialty Fluids segments.
There will be no change in the Purification Solutions segment, Cabot said. Fred von Gottberg was named senior vice president and president of the segment.
