ALBERTA, Canada—Dave Petrie president and CEO of Cancarb Ltd., will retire, effective March 31.
Petrie has worked at Cancarb in various capacities for the past 19 years, the company said, and was appointed president in October 2008. He successfully led Cancarb through the past six years, including Cancarb's acquisition by Tokai Carbon Co. Ltd. in 2014.
Cancarb said Ken Tate will succeed Petrie and will join the company on Feb. 1. He will assume the role of president and CEO effective April 1.
Tate has more than 25 years of experience in the energy industry in natural gas and power markets. He previously served as president of Cancarb from 2004-06.
Tate holds a master's degrees from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario.
