SUWANEE, Ga.—Maxxis International USA has signed up to sponsor the Atlanta Braves during the 2015 season, including home plate signage during many of the Braves' home games at the top of the first inning.
Maxxis is the U.S. subsidiary of Taiwan's Cheng Shin Rubber Ind. Co. Ltd. and is based in Suwanee, a suburb of Atlanta. The company said it has long had a policy of supporting its communities in operations around the world.
“Sponsoring the hometown team of our North American corporate headquarters is a win-win for us,” said Matt Clark, advertising manager for Maxxis. “We're very excited about the upcoming season.”
Maxxis also stated that an additional link between Maxxis and the Atlanta Braves is the recently signed ballplayer Chien-Ming Wang, a native of Taiwan.
Besides the Braves, Maxxis also sponsors the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles baseball teams as well as the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team. In the United Kingdom, the company sponsors the popular Liverpool Football Club.
“We welcome Maxxis to Braves Country and we are thrilled that they will be part of our roster in 2015,” said Jim Allen, Braves vice president of corporate partnerships.
“Millions of people will get to see their signage whether they are in Turner Field or watching from their homes throughout the Southeast.”
