ATLANTA—Lehigh Technologies and Liberty Tire Recycling have signed a distribution agreement involving Lehigh's proprietary Rheopave rubber-modified-asphalt technology.

According to the Jan. 14 agreement, Lehigh said that Liberty Tire will provide sales, service and support for Rheopave in selected regions of North America. Lehigh and Liberty Tire did not reveal which regions of North America are involved.

“Combining our companies' capabilities enables us to broaden the reach for an important technology,” said Lehigh Sales Director Ryan Alleman. “Together we hope to make Rheopave the performance standard for RMA systems.

Lehigh added Rheopave technology to its product line in April 2014 in a partnership agreement with Rheopave Technologies L.L.C.

Under the terms of the new partnership, Lehigh provides sales, supply chain and distribution support through its existing network, while Rheopave provides technical support through its affiliated laboratory, AWI.

According to Lehigh, Rehopave RMA systems offer superior performance to other technologies, including better dynamic shear rheometer, multiple stress creep recovery and improved storage ability. Rheopave RMA systems have been approved by state transportation agencies and are in commercial use today, Lehigh said.
