KIYOSU, Japan—Toyoda Gosei Co. has relocated the regional headquarters for its automotive parts business in Shanghai, China, to a “larger space,” the company announced.
The move, which was made in January, is intended to strengthen the company's technical development operations in the country, Toyoda Gosei said.
In addition to the Shanghai regional headquarter, Toyoda Gosei has regional production operations in nine locations in the cities of Tianjin, Zhangjiagang, Fuzhou, and Foshan, plus Taiwan. These provide rubber and plastics parts for the local operations of Toyota Motor Corp. and other auto makers.
The report said that company's new location in Shanghai has floor space about four times larger than its previous office and includes a test area. The move, the company said, was to create a technical development system that could respond swiftly to the needs of local customers.
