OSAKA, Japan—Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd. has secured an original equipment fitment on the 2015 Dodge Journey crossover vehicle, Toyo's first OE contract for a North American-produced FCA U.S. L.L.C. vehicle.
FCA U.S.—the U.S. holding company for the Chrysler and Dodge brands—is fitting Toyo's A23 grand touring all-season tire, size P225/55R19 99V, on the Journey Crossroad, a version of the CUV that's available with a four- or six-cylinder engine, five- or seven-passenger seating and front- or all-wheel drive.
FCA's spec sheet for the vehicle shows this size as either optional or standard equipment, depending on trim level. Other tire suppliers to this vehicle include Kumho Tire USA Inc.
Toyo describes the A23 as all-season tire from its OE lineup designed to fit a range of high-end coupes and luxury sedans. When mated to the Dodge Journey, the A23 delivers a “quiet and comfortable ride with excellent fuel economy,” along with snowy road handling, the company said.
The A23 also is OE on the Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring model.
