WASHINGTON—The U.S. Senate voted Dec. 16 to confirm Mark Rosekind as administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Rosekind, a member of the National Transportation Safety Board, is widely regarded as one of the world's foremost experts on human fatigue. He comes to NHTSA a week after the NTSB completed a two-day seminar on passenger tire safety.
NHTSA has also come under fire recently for its handling of recent recalls involving ignition systems on General Motors vehicles and airbags manufactured by Tanaka Corp.
