Wacker A. G. is expanding its product range of functional silanes with an arylalkoxysilane monomer, marketed as Geniosil XL 70.

This additive is designed as a water scavenger for silane-curing adhesive and sealant formulations, Wacker said, and is particularly suitable for products that must avoid unpleasant odors when applied.

Geniosil XL 70 has a higher flash point than conventional water scavengers, which is 96°C as per ISO 3679, allowing it to be easier to store and handle. Wacker added the new water scavenger is compatible with all Geniosil silane-modified polymers and organofunctional silanes.

Unlike other comparable products, Geniosil XL 70 has only a faint odor and is ideal for adhesives and sealants used over large areas, Wacker said. Compounders can formulate products such as parquet adhesives and liquid waterproofing systems that do not create odors with the additive and are in line with increasingly stringent occupational health and safety regulations.

As silane-curing adhesives and sealants react with water, water scavengers are an essential component in such products, Wacker said. They protect the polymers from moisture inherent to a formulation via fillers and other ingredients. Water scavengers ensure that the product can be used without restriction throughout its given minimum shelf life.

Motion Industries released its updated General Product Catalog, which not only contains many new products, but the new interactive, digital format allows greater usability and ease-of-use for customers.

Published as a modern e-reader, Motion Industries said the catalog allows customers to view full-color photos and descriptions of more than 44,000 featured products. It is searchable by key word or by selecting any of the 20 product categories, and every product listing contains a direct link to the corresponding web page on www.motionindustries.com.

The catalog also is downloadable in pdf format, either in its entirety or by individual product category. A total of more than 5.6 million items are accessible through Motion's branch network.

In addition to being both desktop- and mobile-friendly, Motion Industries said the catalog format allows users to share pages that interest them with others across all social media outlets.

Exair said Reversible Drum Vac Systems include the two-way pump assembly, flexible vacuum hose (1-1/2” 38mm I.D.) with 90-degree quick release elbow connection and one aluminum wand. Deluxe Systems add a drum dolly, heavy duty aluminum tools and tool holder. Premium Systems add a 30, 55 or 110 gallon drum. Prices start at $489.
