MISSISSAUGA, Ontario—The Woodbridge Group is adding a new facility in Capivari, Sao Paulo as it expands its automotive molded seating foam and interior parts operations in Brazil, with a new facility.
It will be Woodridge's sixth facility in Brazil. The company said it would offer molded polyurethane technologies, automotive seat cushions and interior parts such as head restraints and arm rests.
The company said Brazil's vehicle production is expected to grow at an annual compound rate of 6.8 percent between 2013 and 2019, which would make it the seventh largest global vehicle market.
“We currently provide a healthy volume of automotive seat cushioning products to several OEMs and tier one customers,” said Paulo Farina, vice president and general manager, South America at the Woodbridge Group. “We are also looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead in the near future, as two OEMs have announced plans to build new assembly plants in the region,” he added.
The site of the new facility is in an area with many automotive production facilities, the company said.
