ATLANTA—Huber Engineered Materials said it will increase the price for its industrial calcium carbonate products, effective Dec. 1 or as current contracts allow.
Prices will increase an average of 5 to 10 percent, depending on product grade and packaging. The increase will not apply to Huber's food and USP calcium carbonate grades.
Huber, a division of J.M. Huber Corp., said the adjustment was necessary because of cost increases in materials, packaging, freight, regulatory compliance, labor and capital investments.
Atlanta-based Huber produces industrial calcium carbonate products that are used in a variety of consumer and industrial applications, including rubber; building materials; drilling fluids; thermoset composites; thermoplastics; swimming pool aggregate; pet food; cultured marble; paints and coatings; and adhesives, caulks and sealants.
