WAYNE, N.J.—Hankook Tire America Corp. has donated $50,000 to the Disabled American Veterans, an advocacy and assistance group that provides services to American service veterans.
As a sponsor of the DAV's Mobile Service Office program, Hankook's contribution will help DAV provide free professional assistance to veterans and their families in obtaining benefits and services.
“Hankook's commitment to supporting DAV stems from its corporate social responsibility goals, which are rooted in helping people through mobility,” said Byeong Jin Lee, Hankook Tire America president.
The tire maker and DAV will kick off their partnership on Oct. 9 at the groundbreaking ceremony for Hankook's new plant in Clarksville, Tenn.
DAV national service officers, all of whom are disabled veterans themselves, help veterans living in smaller towns and rural communities obtain needed benefits and services.
