DAHEJ, India—BASF S.E. has inaugurated its $189.6 million chemical production complex at Dahej in Gujarat, India, which is its biggest ever single investment in the country.
The site includes integrated polyurethane manufacturing and production facilities with a splitter for processing crude MDI feedstock.
The Dahej operation will also produce thermoplastic polyurethanes, microcellular polyurethane components and PU systems.
Output from the integrated hub will support the demand of industries in the appliances, footwear, automotive, construction, and furniture segment, BASF said.
The site currently employs 200 people directly and 300 people indirectly. In the near future, the site will offer direct employment opportunity to 50 additional people.
